Job Description
Duties And Responsibilities


  • Develop plans and reports to submit for permitting of various Local, State, and Federal regulatory programs
  • Consults with client to determine project requirements
  • Conduct fieldwork to investigate the location of regulated waters, assess streams, and and perform inspections
  • Perform research, planning and development, permitting, compliance monitoring, inspections/enforcement, and technical support services in relation to development, mitigation, and other projects
  • Supports and communicates with other team members throughout all stages of the project design and construction process as necessary
  • Compile data into reports and use the research findings to inform others and urge policy development
  • Coordinates project with staff, clients, contractors, and government agencies
  • Reviews project proposal or scope to determine time frame, fees, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to complete various phases of the project
Experience you will need:


  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public
  • Experience with geographic information systems and other discipline specific computer modeling programs required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written communication, specifications and drawings
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals or government regulations
  • Valid Virginia drivers license and a satisfactory driving record
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products and AutoCAD
Education and Experience:


  • Valid discipline-specific license in Virginia is required
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license is required
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required
