AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Engineer to be based in our Sacramento, Orange, or Oakland, CA offices. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line.
This position is expected to begin May/June 2023 (flexible).
Job Overview:
The Entry-Level Environmental Engineer will support our Remediation team in our Sacramento, CA office. We are seeking motivated candidate who would like to develop and advance in a full-time environmental remediation career.
The successful candidate will have a background in Environmental Engineering. Knowledge of environmental investigations and remediation is preferred.
Job Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Coordinates with multiple project managers in several office locations to conduct project tasks.
- Develops project documents in conjunction with project team such as Health and Safety plans (HASPs), Workplans, and Sampling Summary Reports.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
- Completes field work in accordance with AECOM safety requirements and site-specific safety plans at project sites including site visits, environmental sampling, and oversight of subcontractors.
- Uses computer software (Excel, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint) as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Tabulae, manage, and evaluate environmental data including soil, soil gas, and groundwater sample results under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Works within team environments to develop and execute project tasks such as field efforts and the development of technical documents.
Minimum Requirements:
- Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related
Preferred Qualifications:
- Field work may be required including oversight of subcontractors.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Candidate must be proficient with basic computer programs (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams).
- Candidate must be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.
- Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects.
- Positive attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative.

- Candidates will be asked to submit to a Motor Vehicle Record screening upon hire.
