Job Description
Job Responsibilities


The Capstone Scholars Program, one of USC’s Carolina Elite programs for high-ability students, is an invitation-only, two-year faculty-led program serving over 2,500 students. The Program includes common academic experiences in addition to a major focus on beyond-the-classroom programming related to leadership, service, undergraduate research, study abroad, wellness, and professional development.


This Capstone Scholars Program Assistant Principal position focuses on strategic academic partnerships, leadership development initiatives, and wellness-related programming. The individual must be a forward-thinking, energetic, and a collaborative individual who understands the needs of students during their 1st and 2nd year.


This position serves as the primary point of contact for the Capstone Cup partnership with University 101 and Student Life. This position also manages the 8-week Capstone Scholars Leadership Program course each Spring semester and the associated poster session event. In addition to supporting other Capstone Scholars’ programming and events, this position takes lead on wellness-related programming including the Marathon Month in March to support the Capstone Scholars Personal Challenge initiative. The candidate must be student-focused and willing to connect with students through 1:1 meetings and drop-in hours.

Minimum And Additional Requirements


Master’s degree in Student Personnel Services, Business, or related field, or bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience, or equivalence. Valid driver’s license required.


Preferred Qualifications


Master’s Degree. Direct experience working with college students in and outside the classroom; experience with entrepreneurship and innovation programming for students and community members.
