Job Description
What to Expect

The Engineering Technician will work alongside manufacturing, equipment, and process engineers and technicians. Candidate will support production line troubleshooting, implementing improvements, and assist with technical writing of manufacturing and equipment instructions, including rework and repair procedures. Candidate will also play a crucial role in ensuring high operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment. You will apply your technical skills to install, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation and robotics. You will work with the highest caliber process and equipment engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize or eliminate downtime. Diagnose equipment failures, find root causes, and work on improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness

What You’ll Do
  • This position is for full time nightshift support. 4 days per week, 12-hour shifts
  • Develop and improve equipment validation procedures including calibration and qualification
  • Participate in initial equipment buyoffs and assist with attending FAT events as necessary
  • Lead equipment upgrades with a focus on serviceability, reliability, and process capability
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously while balancing competing priorities
  • Assist with training maintenance personnel on specific repairs or tool rebuild procedures
  • Act as a liaison between engineering and maintenance departments during off shifts
  • Work with engineering and technical writing teams to improve and update documentation as per Tesla standard
  • Learn and develop design, electrical, programming, communication, project management skills to prepare for entry into future engineering roles
  • Hold yourself to the highest standard of professionalism and collaboration with all cross-functional teams
  • Ability to use and read electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings for equipment troubleshooting or, potential upgrades
  • Ability to use machine shop equipment (mill, lathe, etc..) to fabricate or modify components
