Job Description
Job Summary


The Engineering Manager will oversee the engineering department, ensuring the production of high-quality drawings and bills of material for production. This role leads design reviews, achieves customer specifications, and promotes cost-effective designs. The Engineering Manager will also collaborate with various teams, including Manufacturing, Customer Service, and outside vendors, to support process improvements, prototyping, and program maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Support Manufacturing with graphics, NC programs, and die designs.
  • Document design changes, customer approvals, and production prototype designs.
  • Assign drafting tasks, set completion dates, and supervise the work of drafters/engineers for accuracy and completeness.
  • Involvement in prototyping new products, optimizing material utilization, and coordinating with outside vendors.
  • Attending daily production meetings to support Manufacturing and provide engineering requirement schedules (both production and development-related).
  • Document design changes on the production floor.
  • Assign themselves to projects as a working manager. - Collaborate with Manufacturing to ensure the quality and value of engineering products.
  • Interacting with the Customer Service team for program development, maintenance, updates, and changes.
  • Collaborating with the Plant Manager to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Participate in the prototype process for introducing new products.
  • Managing a team of 9-10 engineering designers in manufacturing signage.
  • Generating daily reports on engineering requirements and schedules.
  • Lead design reviews to ensure cost-effective designs and meet customer expectations.


Basic Qualifications


The ideal candidate should meet the following qualifications:


  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) with at least three years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and sign design engineering.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in engineering, with at least six years in structural drafting and three years in sign design.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Detail-oriented and quality-focused mindset.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
  • Experience with graphic files and/or digital printing is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
