Endoscopy Technician Jobs

Communication skills inter / intra departmentally. The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of age groups. Knowledgeable in aseptic techniques, sterilization principles, sterile storage, and inventory rotation. Familiar with surgical linen, Endoscopy Scopes, Endoscopy Processors, and patient care equipment. Ability to perform precise, detail work in a timely manner

• Cleaning and maintenance of endoscopes and equipment.

• Cleans and high level disinfect endoscopes and endoscopic accessories per manufactures guidelines.

• Demonstrates proficiency in reprocessing of scopes and equipment.
• Performs cleaning and disinfection of endoscopes and ancillary equipment.
• Maintain scope washers and washer adapters.

• Check detergent levels and effectiveness of disinfectant as per policy.

• Participates in department workflow process.
• Effectively communicates information regarding scope repairs, loaners, supplies and QI information by maintaining documentation of all actions.
• Accurately records data in appropriate logs. Reports malfunctioning equipment to Leadership.
• Responsible for stocking supplies, maintaining equipment, and the set up and turn-over of procedural rooms.
• Wears PPE as per policy, maintains supplies needed for cleaning and reprocessing, and effectively communicates equipment failures and needed repairs.

• Performs direct patient care. Anticipates and prioritizes patient needs. Collaborates with RN and/or other licensed professionals regarding plan of care.
• Maintains a safe, efficient, and clean patient environment
• Consistently provides compassionate, caring, and individualized care.
• Consistently reports accurate patient observations in a timely manner.
• Perform patient care appropriate to patient’s condition, needs and/or age.

• Assist patients with toileting, undressing and dressing, and transport from arrival to the unit until discharge to patient’s car or patient hospital room.
• Assist in connecting patients to monitor for BP, heart rhythm and rate, temperature, and SPO2 monitor.
• Maintain competencies as prescribed by department annual Endoscopy Technician checklist. Education/formal training/licensure/certifications/experience: 1. High School Graduate / GED. 2. CAN II Certification required. 3. Experience in surgical and scope processing preferred not required
• During procedure participate in time-out, provide oral suction as needed, assist with specimen collection, and assist nurse/physician with therapy and devices.
