Akkodis is seeking an EMR Project Manager for a contract position with a client located in Durant, OK (Hybrid - 2 days/week onsite).
Rate Range: $55-65/hr. on w2
About the Role:
As an EMR Project Manager, you will lead critical initiatives in our journey toward implementing and optimizing the EPIC electronic medical records system. In Phase 3 of the EPIC implementation, you will oversee the transformation of key medical systems, working closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure a seamless transition. Your role will be pivotal in the success of this transformation, enabling the company to deliver exceptional healthcare services through cutting-edge technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the EMR Program Manager to define the scope of projects, including identifying systems that require changes or updates before EPIC implementation.
- Manage and drive projects related to Document Storage Systems, Blood Bank, Capsule, and Interface Engineering.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, plans, and risk assessments.
- Utilize your deep understanding of EMR systems to manage multiple applications, ensuring smooth integration and alignment with healthcare standards.
- Lead Phase 3 of the EPIC implementation, focusing on the replacement and enhancement of medical systems and services.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and team members to drive project success.
- Employ effective project management methodologies to ensure on-time delivery, within scope and budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to dissect the existing environment, identifying applications and services that will be replaced or managed by third parties or EPIC.
- Work closely with Procurement teams during implementations, ensuring legal compliance and effective vendor relationships.
Top Required Skills
Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant EMR experience
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in managing interfaces within an EMR environment.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems, specifically in areas such as Blood Bank, Laboratories, M Systems, and Pharmacies.
- Experience working with Procurement teams during implementations, addressing legal and compliance aspects.
- Project management experience in EMR changeovers or implementations, with preference given to EPIC expertise (Cerner or McKesson experience also considered).
- IT perspective to manage multiple applications and ensure integration.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of healthcare standards and best practices.
- EPIC certifications (Specific certifications like Willow, Optum, Stork, and ASAP are preferred; multiple EPIC certifications can be an advantage).
Soft Skills:
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills and ability to drive project teams and stakeholders toward common goals.
- Excellent documentation skills to ensure clear and organized project records.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Deep understanding of EMR systems and their integration within healthcare environments.
- Proven experience managing complex EMR projects, particularly in EPIC implementations.
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
