Job Description
Tufts VETS is recruiting an emergency veterinarian to join our Level I VECCS certified hospital. The position offers the opportunity to provide care to a diverse array of inpatients across multiple specialties. Our emergency doctors participate in a rotation of shifts including daytime emergency receiving, daytime inpatient management, mid-day (‘swing’) emergency receiving and overnight shifts. Tufts VETS is an affiliate of the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, at Tufts University, providing a unique environment combining academia and private practice. Benefits of a hybrid practice include the opportunity to teach, and mentor, veterinary students and interns, hold excellent benefits, participate in not-for-profit loan forgiveness programs and most, importantly to see a varied, strong caseload. Furthermore, we are privately owned and independently managed- thus you will be invited to practice medicine in your own way.
Generous sign-on bonus, relocation expenses
Competitive salary with a tremendous benefits package
Multiple specialists to support you: internal medicine, surgery, diagnostic imaging, ophthalmology, dermatology, cardiology, and oncology
The ECC teams consists of 2 criticalists and 8 experienced ER doctors
Our rotating intern class will grow from 6 to 7 in 2023-2024
Our 25,000-square foot hospital recently underwent renovations and currently houses a large ICU, digital radiographs, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, endoscopy echocardiology suite, blood bank, telemetry, mechanical ventilator, in-house NOVA and IDEXX lab. There are currently 2 surgery suites with plans for a 3rd.
Partnership with the teaching hospital of Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University provides resources including access to the diagnostic laboratory, library consortium, IT support, specialist consultation and more.
Walpole, Massachusetts is located halfway between Boston and Providence so you can take advantage of two unique cities. In addition to the rich culture of the cities, we are convenient to the beaches of Cape Cod and the mountains of New England.
