Job Summary:

As an Emergency Room Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing immediate and specialized care to patients requiring urgent medical attention. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will assess patients, triage their condition, and administer appropriate treatments to stabilize their health. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient care delivery. Your critical thinking, strong communication skills, and ability to remain calm under pressure will be essential in saving lives and providing quality healthcare to individuals in critical conditions.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Assess patients' need for emergency medical care promptly and accurately.

2. Perform triage to prioritize patients based on the severity of their condition.

3. Administer immediate medical treatments, including resuscitation, wound management, and medication administration.

4. Monitor patients' vital signs, ECG readings, and other diagnostic results.

5. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.

6. Conduct patient education on disease prevention, treatment, and follow-up care.

7. Safely transfer stable patients to appropriate healthcare units for further treatment, if necessary.

8. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patient progress and treatment provided.

9. Assist in the coordination and execution of emergency medical procedures, such as intubation and central line placements.

10. Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and well-organized work environment.

11. Stay updated with emerging medical treatments, protocols, and technologies related to emergency care.

12. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during critical situations.

13. Participate in the training and orientation of new staff members.

14. Monitor and maintain medical equipment and supplies in the emergency department.

15. Follow established hospital policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.

3. Minimum of [X] years of experience working in emergency room settings.

4. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

5. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

6. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

13. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

14. Understanding of legal and ethical implications related to emergency nursing.

15. Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and protocols.
