Emergency Department Tech (Ed Tech)

The Scripps Clinic at Torrey Pines serves our central coastal communities. You will be joining the Urgent Care team where you will support the department by performing basic emergency medical procedures as directed. As an Urgent Care Department Technician, you can expect to perform the following duties:

• You may transport patients and/or provide coverage for the unit secretary.
• You will perform assessment of vital signs, thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, application of simple dressings and splints, stool and urine collection.
• Under supervision, assists nurses and physicians in the performance of their functions.
• Assists in collection of patient history and ensures confidentiality of records, as well as, clean and prepare rooms between procedures including changing of bed linens and restocking of room supplies.
• You will also prepare patients for examinations/treatments including draping patients, opening sterile supplies, set up and removal of IV's.

This is a full time position, working 12-hour NIGHT shifts, with a rotating work schedule that includes weekends, located at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines.

Required Qualifications:

• Certified CA state issued EMT (EMT, AEMT or Paramedic) or CNA
• BLS Healthcare Provider Certifications through American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• One (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting
