**This is a hybrid role which requires this person to sit in Milwaukee, WI or within commuting distance**

What you will do

You will be a critical individual contributor and technical leader of our Cloud connected product development team. In this role you will utilize modern technologies to build embedded edge device for JCI connected BAS (Building Management System) products. You will be primarily working on design and implementation of both kernel space and user space components of the edge devices.

How you will do it

• Learn new technologies, and work effectively across the full stack
• Mentor of junior team members, manage team performance by technical mentorship, code review and effective communication. Be responsible for team on time delivery and quality.
• Active player on SAFe ART, participate PI planning, sprint planning, review and daily standup meetings
• Desire to jump in where needed. Resolve blocking issues and/or guide junior members to resolve issues
• As individual contributor, design, code and test software components
• Act as component leader and/or individual contributor in project team
• As component leader, provides software design, perform user story grooming, task breakdown and effort estimation

What we look for

• Understanding to Docker based containerization technology is highly preferred
• Excellent C/C++ coding and debugging skills
• Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Experience on working with team using GitHub, JIRA tools
• Strong Python coding skills
• Experience on working on project using SAFe process
• At least 4 years of experience in the software industry
• Global Perspective: Ability to work collaboratively in global teams
• Passion for technology: quickly learn new technologies and willing to dump into new domains
• Node.js coding skill is a plus
• Great software design capability, capable of breaking software component down to individual achievable stories
• At least 2 years of experience on embedded Linux, good understanding to both Linux kernel space and user space programming
• RUST language coding skill is highly preferred
