Job Description

EPG (EPGAmerica.com) is currently seeking a full-time, on-site Embedded Software Engineer for one of our partners that addresses the needs and challenges of clean energy technology for the commercial vehicle industry through the development of zero-emission commercial vehicles. In this position, you will have the responsibility of designing, developing, and creating embedded system architecture for e-Mobility solutions using the company’s electric hub. Your responsibilities will include devising and executing the embedded software strategy for optimizing high-voltage traction motors, distributing auxiliary power, ensuring the safety of the HV system, developing user interfaces, and overseeing the overall development of the supervisory control system for the vehicle.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supervisory controls and management at the vehicle level within a real-time and embedded environment.
  • Responsible for development compilers and low-level drivers development for micro-controllers.
  • Plan, analyze, design, code, and test real-time, embedded, and distributed systems in the automotive domain.
  • Design and develop embedded code, investigate new feature/solution possibilities, and create interface definitions.
  • Utilizing specific tools and methodologies for embedded automotive software, develop and verify systems, software, and hardware.
Requirements
  • Experience with low-level programming and hardware driver development for sensors or other hardware components
  • BS or MS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or other applicable engineering or technical field)
  • Experience in application development like Diagnostics
  • Experience with Git and Jira
  • Experience with System-level embedded software integration
  • Knowledge of CAN, J1939, and UDS protocol development
  • Experience with embedded C and assembly programming languages and embedded compilers
  • 3+ years of experience in Embedded Engineering
Preferred
  • Experience with testing and validation
  • Experience with Simulation and modeling
  • Electric Vehicle (EV) experience
  • Experience with ISO 26262
  • Experience with HMI/GUI software development
  • Experience with high-voltage battery management systems and/or traction inverters
