Email Marketing Specialist, Remote

The Email Marketing Specialist will be responsible for campaign management and execution including audience segmentation, campaign development, HTML email development, QA, execution, and reporting. This role will work closely with the Batteries Plus Creative Team as well as our email and text marketing account management teams. The Email Marketing Specialist will work in a fast-paced e-commerce environment and requires the use of innovative technologies to create the best experiences for our consumers.

Responsibilities

Marketing

• Ensure channel plans are aligned with promotional strategy and updated as needed
• Partner with Marketing stakeholders to understand both business & campaign goals and work from ideation through execution
• Audience creation, management and data troubleshooting
• Execute simple image editing on provided PSDs
• Campaign Quality Assurance and testing Campaign performance tracking & reporting
• Be aware of market data, trends, consumer preferences, and competitor behavior to optimize channel strategies
• Meet scheduled deadlines
• Brainstorm with team members to develop creative ideas for promotional events and campaigns, and liaise with third-party vendors to execute successful events
• Develop means of measuring effectiveness of marketing and promotional campaigns, including advertising and communications strategies
• Develop and execute marketing initiatives to appeal to target audience using appropriate channels such as email, social media and traditional media

Email & SMS Campaigns

• Conduct content quality assurance checks to ensure the mailing meets expectations
• Email campaign configuration and execution
• Consult and troubleshoot on HTML/text mailings, dynamic content personalization, and URL issues
• Hand-code HTML files optimized for email
• Follow code & QA best practices
• Integrate email content into email platform(s) for campaign deployment, including CAN-SPAM requirements
• Lead email personalization initiatives and testing strategy
• Responsive conversion of Photoshop documents to HTML optimized for email

Qualifications

• Proficiency with at least one ESP-specific scripting language (i.e., liquid scripting, AMPscript, etc)
• High knowledge of JavaScript
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Design, Communications or related field
• 2 or more years of related experience

• Effectively problem solve in individual and in group settings
• Well organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. Able to meet deadlines with multiple tasks, and projects in a fast paced, changing environment
• Demonstrated communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS (for email specialization)
• Self-directed with the ability to exercise independent judgment
• Excellent attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of responsive code optimized for email
