- Eligibility Screener (230007V4)
- It is also preferred if Eligibility Screeners are able to interpret/translate MRC’s deaf and hard of hearing consumers by managing records of Interpreting and Speech to Text Services and providing translation services to MRC Connect based upon requests.
- As selected and specifically assigned, Eligibility Screeners may also act as an alternate supervisor as needed.
- Eligibility Screeners are fluent in English, but preferred to have bilingual/translation experience to support consumers and MRC personnel, such as in Spanish, Portuguese, Cantonese, etc.
- This is a virtual and remote position; teleworking may be required 90% of time and travel may be required 40% of the time for meeting offsite at various locations.
- Operate, and use databases and technology tools specific to MRC Connect, which may include, but not limited to; MRCIS, Virtual Gateway, Ch 688 (transition database), other Community Living Program databases, office tools and tracking mechanisms. All information that is required to be documented is conducted with accuracy, completeness and in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain relationships with public and private organizations. Collaborate across programs as needed for the timely delivery of eligibility decisions.
- Meet with diverse consumers (via phone, video conferencing, or in-person at MRC office, or in-person at a non-MRC office location) who have a physical, emotional, mental, or otherwise disability, on a regular basis to conduct intake interviews, service need assessments and collect appropriate information for eligibility determinations.
- Sign off authority for consumers’ case once there is a record of satisfactory compliance and the approval of the supervisor.
- Determine eligibility of potential MRC consumers within federal RSA guidelines, and other state and federal guidance related to vocational rehabilitation and community living programs (SHIP, Supported Living, HCAP, Chapter 688).
- Counseling Knowledge: Knowledge of the principles & practices of assisting people in coping with physical and/or mental disabilities to meet their vocational, social, and independent living needs, including evaluation, monitoring, testing & training.
- Customer Service: Ability to assess and effectively manage relationships in an uplifting manner; Ability to work well with diverse populations in diverse settings in a manner that builds trust and supports increased collaboration.
- Proficient usage of Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook as well as technologies supporting a remote workplace (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Verbal Comprehension & Written Comprehension: Ability to understand information and ideas presented verbally and in writing.
- Bilingual ability to fluently speak in additional language(s), which includes but is not limited to; Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin/Cantonese or other.
- A Bachelors’ degree.
- Knowledge of and experience in diversity, equity, inclusion, and racial equity and effective engagement across differences.
- Certificate in Rehabilitation Counseling (“CRC”)
- Licensed Rehabilitation Counselor (“LRC”)
- Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling
- A Master’s Degree in a related field with course content that emphasizes rehabilitation, counseling, disability, therapy, health, employment, wellness, or human development, and one-year equivalent work experience in the field no later than three (3) years from the date of hire.
