Job Overview
The interventionist will work with elementary school students. The goal is to target students who struggle in reading and math skills and close the learning gaps. This may include teaching individual, small, or large groups of students. Interventionists will collaborate with grade level and department teachers to design methods of learning appropriate for students. They will report to grade level/department teams the progress students make towards reducing the learning gap. They will also serve on building MTSS teams (Tier II/Tier III) to support student learning.
Job Responsibility

• Prepares for assigned classes and shows evidence of planning to principal.
• Assesses progress of students regularly and provides progress reports as needed.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques to meet the needs and capabilities of individual and/or small groups of students.
• Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Strives to implement the district's philosophy of education, goals, and objectives.
• Plans a program of study which meets the individual needs of each student.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
• Makes provisions for being available to students and families outside of the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the building principal.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.

Job Qualifications

• Experience in School Setting Preferred
• Valid Iowa Teaching License (K-8 or 5-12 Teaching License) Preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to make connections with students, families, schools, and agencies
