Elementary Drama Teacher Jobs

Oakwood is seeking an outstanding full-time Drama teacher for our elementary division. This position is for the 2023-2024 school year beginning in August 2023, with a required two-week training during the 2023 summer.

Salary Range: $40,000 - $58,000

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Work and communicate effectively with parents in formal and informal conferences, written reports, newsletters, and other school approved channels.
• Be a positive and contributing member of the Oakwood community
• Support and follow school policies and procedures
• Plan, supervise and implement curriculum as a drama education teacher
• Work in partnership and collaborate with other teachers, educators, parents, and specialists to develop curriculum, and coordinate special projects as related to the position.
• Other duties as assigned
• Design and implement 1st-5th grade level performances, including set design

Position Qualifications

• Excellent classroom management skills
• Previous experience as a drama teacher
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to being part of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive school community
• Demonstrated interest in being part of a collaborative team
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work
• Demonstrated confidence and aptitude with the use of instructional technology
• Passion to work with elementary children and their families
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Content and pedagogical expertise
• A minimum of 2-years of previous teaching experience at the secondary level or equivalent professional experience relevant to working with students

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

• Ability to lift items up to 20 pounds and to sit and stand for 4-8 hours per day
