Elementary Athletics Activities Assistant

Reports To: SBEZ Director of Athletics POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Elementary Athletics Activities Assistant will serve as the building level representative for the Empowerment Zone’s Elementary Athletics programs. The AA will work with the Director of Partnership Development & Athletics and the School Building principal to ensure the implementation of the Elementary Athletics program works according to Zone-wide goals and Building-Level requirements. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and oversight of Athletics Coaches. Assist with the communication, sign-ups and recruitment of Student Athletes. Oversee athletics equipment storage and management for the school. Assist and be present for the 5 Elementary Athletics Jamboree events. Navigate any school level facility issues related to athletics. Be the liaison between coaches and Deans regarding any behavioral issues. Serve on the SBEZ Elementary Athletics team along with the AAs of the other schools and the Director of Partnership Development & Athletics. Ensure the culture of Elementary Athletics at the school reflects SBEZ goals. Additional responsibilities and tasks related to monitoring building-level athletics supervision will be assigned. CORE COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS: Employed as a staff member of the school Background in athletics Highly organized Good communication skills Proactive problem solving capacity Reliable in communication, attendance, follow-through, and timeliness DETAILS: Hours: As needed, after staff contracted hours (after 3:15p) 5 Saturdays for Elementary Athletics Jamborees approx 3-5 hrs/wk Yearly Schedule: 9 month, school-year Compensation: $1,101.60 (stipend, annual) per CBA: #0324 Anticipated Start Date: August 16, 2023 NOTE: This role does not disqualify a person from serving as an Elementary Athletics Coach *Position subject to grant funding " />
