Electrician Jobs

Portland Public Schools is looking for experienced electricians to help maintain school and district buildings across the city of Portland. The selected candidate will join a team of multicraft tradespersons as part of the Maintenance Services Department which is dedicated to serving our schools so students and staff have safe learning environments.

WHAT WE OFFER

Salary Range: $42.91 - $47.21

• Hires are placed at step 1 and eligible for additional step increases per their bargaining unit (DCU).
• Step 1 will automatically increase to $44.20 on 7/1/2023.

Work Schedule: This is a year-round position working full-time (40 years a week), Monday to Friday only, with optional overtime.

Location: Work within Portland city limits at district schools and buildings, with no out of town travel.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

· Five (5) years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of Electrical systems and related controls and equipment; OR A combination of related training and experience which equals five (5) years.

(and)

· Evidence of successful substantial work experience in this trade including recent experience.

(or)

· Certificate of graduation from high school or equivalent and from a bonafide relevant apprentice program, inclusive of both class instruction and work experience in this trade

(or)

· A certificate of satisfactory completion of an equivalent program from an accredited institution, in combination with evidence of concurrent or subsequent related successful work experience in this trade

· Must be able to read, interpret and perform normal trade duties in compliance with plans, prints and specifications.

· Requires a valid driver’s license. May be required to obtain a valid commercial driver’s license.

· Required to perform asbestos removal in accordance with federal, state, Oregon OSHA, DEQ and District rules and regulations as a DEQ certified asbestos worker.

· Requires all state and local licenses to work as an electrician.

· We will consider any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
