Job Description

Precision Aircraft Solutions, LLC is internationally known for creating the premier passenger to cargo aircraft conversion. We are seeking a Electrical Liaison Engineer to join the Engineering team to work in Wichita, KS supporting cargo conversion sites in the United States and China.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Other tasks reasonably requested due the nature of your position.
  • Coordinate, in a professional manner, with customers, manufacturers, vendors and other outside agencies.
  • Provide technical expertise for trouble shooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action for aircraft systems failures which may include but are not limited to: electrical power, lighting, pneumatics, hydraulics, water/waste, smoke detection, environmental control, and oxygen.
  • Provide basic substantiation for design deviations.
  • Design and prepare electrical/systems repair and deviation data for aircraft installations that are beyond the scope of the applicable FAA approved STC modification.
  • Research and review engineering data (drawings, reports, manuals, etc.) defining aircraft structure or systems to determine the most efficient method of repair or design improvement.
  • Provide the primary technical response to Production through continued interaction and visibility with Production personnel.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Large aircraft modification experience, preferably on Boeing and/or Airbus aircraft in a Maintenance and Repair Organization (MRO)
  • Must have good oral, written, and organizational skills, and be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and be able to work under pressure with a minimum level of supervision.
  • Ability to prepare accurate and concise sketches for design deviations and/or improvements. Proficient in AutoCAD required. Solidworks, and/or CATIA V5 experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office required.
  • Possess comprehensive working knowledge of engineering principles, repair and fabrication practices, aviation hardware and general aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Possess knowledge of FAA regulations/certification processes and related requirements.
  • BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of course work and experience.
  • Must possess ability to maneuver around airplanes (i.e., climbing stairs, on work stands, man lifts, etc.) and in confined areas (i.e. cargo compartments, E/E bays, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of the use and application of aircraft technical data such as engineering drawings, MM's, SB's, IPC's, etc.
  • Must be able to deal with customers, vendors, and other departments effectively.
  • Five to ten years’ experience in the engineering field in a hands-on environment preferred. Minimum 3 years’ experience.
