About The Position


METCOR/LSI has a need for an E-Learning Specialist to support the development and delivery of technical, procedural, and/or soft-skills training materials for federal employees. This position is full-time, remote, and offers a long-term opportunity for internal growth within an established organization.


METCOR/LSI maintains a drug-free work environment. All positions require the ability to pass a background investigation conducted by a federal government agency and a drug test. U.S. citizenship is required.


Duties And Responsibilities In The E-Learning Specialist Role


  • Design and develop 508 compliant web-based training (WBT) materials using a variety of development technologies
  • Test web-based training courses for compliance and functionality
  • Edit and content review for other team members
  • Research and study to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a variety of topics
  • Work with embedded video
  • Collaborate on the design and development of training materials (presentations, quick reference tools, instructor/participant guides, storyboards, etc.) on a variety of topics
  • Develop engaging interactive slides
  • Create master templates for web-based training courses


Required Skills And Abilities For The E-Learning Specialist Role


  • Skilled in creating and using variables and triggers for interactive slides
  • Able to build 504/508 and SCORM compliant web-based training courses using development technologies such as Articulate, Lectora, Captivate, etc.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Knowledge of and experience using the ADDIE process of Instructional Systems Design
  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability
  • Analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • Champion of life-long learning and self-development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment


Education And Experience For The E-Learning Specialist Role


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required (Instructional Design, Education, or English preferred)
  • 1-3 years of experience in Instructional Systems Design to include: instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (VILT), and web-based training (WBT) design and development
  • Graduate work and/or additional certifications preferred
  • Graphic design experience preferred


Physical Requirements Of The E-Learning Specialist Role


  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer


Compensation


  • $50,000 - $80,000 annually
