About The Job


The Early Childhood Education Specialist supports the organization's mission by connecting our communities with high quality, standards-based PBS resources. The PBS39 education team engages families and schools throughout the Lehigh Valley and beyond working to increase literacy, math and early science through multigenerational learning opportunities and early childhood professional development. About Us


Lehigh Valley Public Media is a growing public media company and home to the recently launched LehighValleyNews.com, the area's only nonprofit and locally operated digital news platform as well as public media television station PBS39 and NPR radio station WLVR 91.3 that offer local, national, and international programming that informs, educates, and entertains. Our education team helps thousands of students and educators at home, at school, and in the community through television programming, outreach services, and other special programs and events


What You'll Do


  • Collect data and works with the Education team to evaluate and interpret findings to assess program effectiveness
  • Develop, promote and implement workshop for educator and families using PBS/PBS KIDS educational resources to support local and state efforts in early childhood education.
  • Cultivate a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment that supports the organization's values and strategic plan
  • Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to remain current and ensure best practices
  • Work to become a knowledgeable resource for PBS educational assets and programs within the station and the community while developing strong professional relationships with established education and community partners.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Education Team and interdepartmentally to fulfill program objectives and deliverables in a timely manner

  • Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, community health, or the equivalent.

  • Prior experience in Early Childhood Education
