Early Injection Machine Operator (3am to 11:00am Raw Production Side of Plant)


**Increased Pay Rates!!**

Operator jobs on evening shift start at $16.50 and increase to $17.00 after 6 months and to $ 17.50 after 1 year. $1.00 shift differential

Position Summary:

Performs a variety of tasks as directed. Physical activities may include frequent lifting of approximately 25 to 50 pounds, depending on area; frequent kneeling and stooping to retrieve items at lower levels; and frequent raising of arms to retrieve items approximately 60 inches above head. This individual will be responsible for the operating, setup, start up/shut down and the daily running of machines in the injection area. Must be able to assist and train team members in the proper procedures of keeping the line running at correct production rates. Qualified candidates will be interviewed with Group Leader of the area.

Essential Duties, Functions, and responsibilities:

  • Process product using tools and equipment provided
  • Adheres to all USDA and GMP (Good Manufacturing Processes) product standards and guidelines
  • Accountable to maintain punctual and regular attendance for scheduled work hours
  • Will be required to assist in clean up at break times and end of shift including dumping trash and operating compactor
  • Follows all work safety policies and guidelines
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Will be required to rotate to various functions within the processing departments
  • Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues or concerns

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask and visualize product issues such as air in product and air voids
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to read a scale
  • Ability to meet time standards for each line (ex. 4 pieces of product per minute)
  • Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to place product in pockets correctly
  • Must pass a background check, drug screen
  • WorkKeys Certification desired: Graphics Literacy – Bronze certificate; Workplace Observation – Level 2 Certificate
  • Properly scale product to correct weight according to specifications
  • Must be able to read and write
  • Properly place product in net (if applicable) correctly
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Troubleshoot problems at racking station as well as stuffing/netting station

Physical Requirements:

  • Climbing and adjusting stationary stands
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling (up to and including 50 lbs. or more)
  • Reaching overhead (up to and including 25 lbs.)
  • Standing (8 hours a day or more),
  • Working with knives and hooks
  • Gripping, grasping, and twisting using hands and wrists
  • Working below knee levels for short periods of time while racking
  • Bending and stooping for long periods of time
  • Working above shoulder level for short periods while racking
