Early Childhood Quality Coach for East TN - Social Work Office of Research and Public Service


  • Exempt: MR 9 – Salary Range: 46-50K
  • This position will service Knox and surrounding counties.
  • Remote position w/ occasional in office meetings


Description: The University of Tennessee Social Work Office of Research Programs (SWORPS), Child Care Resource & Referral office seeks to hire an Early Childhood Quality Coach to serve the East TN area. The Child Care Resource & Referral is a statewide program that seeks to promote quality, licensed childcare through support of programs, directors, and early childhood educators.


The Early Childhood Quality Coach for East TN CCR&R provides training, coaching, technical assistance, and support to licensed childcare agencies and families to improve the quality of childcare in a 13 county East Tennessee region. The coach also works in collaboration with partner agencies that interface with childcare programs as well as community agencies involved with families.


The position is a remote work position based out of Knoxville, Tennessee and supports Knox and surrounding counties. This is a full-time position with benefits and primarily day-shift hours.

The Following Job Functions Include, But Not Limited To


  • Works collaboratively with other individuals and community agencies providing technical assistance and training to childcare educators, families, and consumers.
  • Multiple areas of focus include curriculum and assessment, rating assistance, observational tools, health and safety, program administration and management.
  • Prepares, designs, and implements a training plan and delivery of research-driven professional development for childcare educators and families.
  • Provides technical assistance through coaching, consultation, and professional development to childcare agencies utilizing a variety of delivery services including onsite visits, phone consultation, -virtual meetings, and email.
  • Attends all Train-the-Trainer Institutes required to provide training and technical assistance to licensed childcare agencies and families.
  • Prepares and submits all required reports and completes all data entry.
  • Provides targeted technical assistance to childcare program educators to determine needs, develop objectives, provide resources, implement strategies, and monitor progress toward meeting the highest quality standards.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Participates in local, state and agency sponsored events or meetings.


Minimum Requirements


EDUCATION:


Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.


WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday with occasional evening, weekends, and overnight travel - Requires the need for flexible schedules.


An automobile is required at his/her disposal; a valid driver's license and a current automobile liability policy with continuous coverage. Occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds.
