Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Coordinator is responsible for acquiring, maintaining, order, and track DME inventory with the assistance of the new Breg Integrated Inventory System. DME Coordinator will also assist as a clinic float during high volume days, this includes assisting in the nurses’ station.

What you will do:

  • Explaining to the MAs, Scribes, and the Physicians proper documentation in EMR.
  • Train MAs on workflow changes for Breg Inventory System.
  • Educate patients on product information, use, and maintenance process.
  • Configure DME equipment and fit for appropriate accessories.
  • Knowledgeable and/or willing to learn the rules and regulations for paperwork and
  • Develop and coordinate care protocols and DME set-ups for patients.
  • Ensure patient care needs are served in a timely manner & efficiently set-up equipment and deliver patient education.
  • Knowledgeable regarding DME dispensing with insurance policies.
  • Receive and process incoming DME orders.

  • Support Clinic Operations as needed.
  • Enable accurate claim process by aligning billing processes with insurance requirements; coordinate with authorization team when prior authorizations are required, follow up with patient after authorization to fit brace (if not done on initial day of service).
  • Facilitate effective claim processing with DME aspects of care plan by ensuring claims are accurate and submitted within 24 hours dispensing process.
  • Supports patient insurance and/or financial securing processes as appropriate by confirming patient information is accurate during dispensing process.

Job Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of Excel.
  • Organized.
  • Thorough knowledge of EMR.
  • Pleasant patient interactions.
  • Knowledge of basic office equipment: fax, phone, scanner, copier

Education and Experience:

  • High school Diploma
  • Previous management experience in a medical setting (preferred)
  • Previous training experience in a medical setting (preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (preferred)
