Overview:
Holcim has openings for Dump Truck Drivers to support operations in southern Maryland. The Driver will operate a truck equipped with a dump body to transport and dump loose materials, such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, coal, or bituminous paving materials. The position hauls and delivers materials to and from specified vendors and job sites including loading and unloading in designated areas. Typical schedule includes six (6) working days per week.
Responsibilities:
  • Hauls materials safely to designated areas and maintains safe speed and observes all haulage.
  • Maintains an effective system of communications with Supervisors and Customer Service.
  • Identifies safety problems or concerns and reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor including near misses and areas where safety can be improved.
  • Conducts a pre and post trip inspection of the truck and reports any items in need of evaluation, repair or maintenance.
  • Communicates with load and unload areas
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Class A or B Commercial Driver's License and Medical Certification Card
  • Ability operate both a manual and an automatic transmission
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Two (2) years of experience
  • Asphalt experience preferred
