Job Description
What to Expect

The Drug & Alcohol Program Coordinator will contribute to the ongoing success and implementation of Tesla’s Substance Abuse and Testing Policy. The candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day activities and coordination of program functions and needs. The position will be cross-functional in nature and the candidate must be adaptable to a fast-paced and growing department. The ideal candidate will serve as an internal resource for inquiries regarding the substance abuse program and an external resource to third party vendors and customers.

What You’ll Do
  • Accurately maintain and monitor record keeping systems for drug and alcohol related events and incidents
  • Provide foot escort and/or vehicle escort of employees throughout the factory to the collection area
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert providing guidance and interpretation of company policies, promoting education and increased awareness of company policies and procedures (as appropriate) to employees, leaders, and other internal stakeholders
  • Track, maintain, and report drug and alcohol results of employees and new hire candidates, ensuring reports are timely and all appropriate documentation has been completed
  • Oversee the daily coordination or drug and alcohol testing by making timely notifications to management and 3rd party vendors
  • Liaison with third party vendors and Medical Review Officers (MROs) providing guidance and responses aligned with internal policies and processes
  • Provide consistent and timely communication and notification to management and 3rd party vendors addressing safety concerns as they arise
What You’ll Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in a security officer or public safety position in lieu of degree
  • Familiar with the administration and enforcement of drug and alcohol policies
  • Experience and ability to work within the manufacturing/production environment, handling high volume, complex case management
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or similar field
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for 8-12 hours shifts, with occasional overtime needs
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of safety and security procedures
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
