Job Summary: The Shuttle Driver/Courier provides transportation of family members/patient friends, employees, supplies and miscellaneous items by facility shuttle, maintains and provides records for the general upkeep and maintenance of the shuttle.

Essential Functions:

  • HIPAA: Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with HIPAA privacy laws, follow hospital policy in provision of patient confidentiality. Able to identify patient confidentiality issues and reports to proper hospital personnel immediately.
  • Notifies the department/nursing unit upon family member / friend arrival or leaving.
  • Prioritizes family member / patient friend transportation during normal heavy transportation hours.
  • Runs errands as needed for the Hospital.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient and/or employee information to assure patient and/or employee rights are protected.
  • Reports to work on time as scheduled; adheres to policies regarding notification of absence.
  • Maintains the hospital shuttle ensuring the vehicle is always clean.
  • Consistently demonstrates Guest Relation’s skills to physicians, visitors, employees, and any other individuals with whom they may come in contact.
  • Consistently follows departmental and hospital Health, Safety, Security, Hazardous Materials policies and procedures.
  • Attends all mandatory in-services and staff meetings.
  • Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean and wears appropriate identification while on duty.
  • Maintains current licensure/certification for position, if applicable.
  • Stock supplies as requested by the Departments.
  • Disinfects/cleans shuttle between usage.
  • Participates in team projects as assigned.
  • Greets, guides, and transports patient family members, patient friends, and employees within established guidelines.
  • Ensures that the shuttle is in full operational condition, maintains records of routine maintenance and daily vehicle checks.
  • Brings areas of deficiency to management’s attention with suggestions for improvement.

Qualifications


Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

Licenses/Certification:

  • Valid Driver License with annual DMV driving record review.
