Job Description

Title: Driver


Location: New Haven, Connecticut, United States


Department: Transitional Foster Care Program for Unaccompanied Children (UC)


Reports to: Lead Case Manager


Summary:


The driver will be responsible for the transportation of clients when needed, as arranged by the Assistant.


Essential Functions:


Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:

  • Provide transportation in emergency situations when the assigned case manager is not available.
  • Transport clients to and from foster homes, Center for Refugee and Immigrant Services, appointments, respite providers, etc.,

  • Must be able to abide by all rules and regulations regarding the confidentiality of client and foster family information
  • Courteous, professional, and engaging
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to get along with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Culturally competent


Supervisory Responsibility: None.


Required Education and Experience:


  • Bilingual
  • No previous experience is required.


Preferred Education and Experience:


  • Experience working with immigrant or refugee populations.
  • Prior experience transporting children and adolescents.
