Driver/ Class A Jobs

Description:

Duties:

• Class A Yard hostler will check trailers before pulling away from the dock doors.
• Drive Tractor (manual transmission) to make deliveries and pick up empty containers within a 10-mile radius.
• DVIR must be completed for post shift inspection.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment, moving approximately 50 moves per shift.
• Class A Yard hostlers will drive and maneuver yard goat (automatic transmission) & trailers from dock to dock switching out empty trailers with full trailers to keep production moving.
• Driver must have strong communication skills as they will be interacting and taking direction from dispatchers, or warehouse managers and drivers on a consistent basis through radio and onboard computer system.
• Positions requires constant sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping
• Pre and Post shift inspections are required on assigned yard goat each day.
• Keep dock bays swept and free of debris. During slow periods, pick up all trash in yard – keep a look out for nails and or bolts.
• Ability to lift 20-45 lbs.
• Yard Hostler will need to keep windows clean and the interiors free of trash.
• Safety is always the key, so driver must be safety minded, perform pre- and post-trips daily, chock rear wheels and be aware of safety hazards in all weather conditions.

Requirements:

Valid Class A license
2 years or more Class A Yard Hosting experience within the last 3 years.
Driver may not exceed any combination of 3 moving violations and/or preventable accidents on their MVR in the past 36 months.
NO DUI'S / DWIS in the past 5 years
NO Reckless Driving in the past 5 years.
