Job Description
SMV is actively looking for a Draftsman to work for a fabrication company in the Canastota, NY area. Ideally, they are looking for someone with experience creating drafts for piping systems using AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Solidworks. This role would be required to partner with managers and clients on projects, making this a pretty visible role. This is a direct hire role with full benefits, M-F 40 hour workweek with competitive pay!


Responsibilities


  • Ensure timely completion of drawings to meet project/tender deadlines
  • Create, modify, and update drawings and models to meet project specifications
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and production staff
  • Draft and model piping layouts for various systems using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, or SolidWorks
  • Assist with material take-offs, procurement, and distribution of drawings to relevant personnel


Requirements


  • Preferred 2 years of college education or equivalent experience
  • Background in mechanical contracting and knowledge of pipe systems is a plus
  • 1-5 years of experience in creating drafts for mechanic systems
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, SolidWorks, or similar software
