DCWP seeks a College Aide hire to play a key role in the agency’s Project Management Office (PMO), team, while gaining Project Management Office experience during their college experience, the College Aides will assist the PMO team in developing and implementing analytics, policies, and planning strategies to achieve agency-wide project goals. Conduct routine data analysis designed to enhance the understanding of agency operations and provide critical information and reporting to various divisions. Collaborate on the design, development, and implementation of internal and public-facing web portals.


The responsibilities and tasks will include, but not limited to:


  • Provide Training and Training documentation.
  • Knowledge of gathering business requirements.
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills, commitment to quality, professionalism, and ability to prioritize the tasks.
  • General understanding of business analysis skills.
  • Participate and help in User Acceptance Testing
  • Provide excellent Customer Service.
  • Familiarity to identify/resolve/prioritize business requirements.
  • Work closely with Developers to design a solution and provide a timeline.
  • Knowledge of working in an iterative, agile environment.
  • Help in developing and maintaining technical documentation such as design documents, specifications, software documents and training.
  • Interface with clients and facilitate meetings.


Minimum Qual Requirements


For Assignment Level I:


Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school.


For Assignment Level II (Information Technology)


Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.


For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow)


Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. Appointments to this Assignment Level will be made by the Technology Steering Committee through the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.


SPECIAL NOTE


Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 years. No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session. Students may be employed full-time during their vacation periods.


Preferred Skills


  • Provide help in managing projects from various phases of the project.
  • Excellent written/oral communications and management skills.
  • Basic experience with tools: SharePoint, MS Project, Visio would be preferred.
  • Needs little to no supervision while performing assigned tasks.
  • Have problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of managing communications including meetings, agendas, and meeting minutes.
  • Basic knowledge of SDLC, waterfall and Agile/Iterative project management models.
