Document Management Technician (Entry Level Legal Support)

What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI is looking for talented individuals who are just beginning their career in the legal field. The Document Management Technician (DMT) position is an entry level position that allows you to utilize your organizational skills while working closely with litigation support professionals in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare processed mail for return to the client, to include: Date stamp incoming mail; Prepare mail for scanning; Scan incoming mail; Review scanned mail images for accuracy; Copy scanned documents to network folder for client access.
  • Prepare completed requests for shipment via UPS, FedEx or USPS.
  • Report to Task Supervisor or Project Supervisor.
  • Assist with delivering outgoing mail to the DOJ mailroom.
  • Print incoming requests.

More About the Role:

As a Document Management Technician, you will gain invaluable knowledge and transferrable skills related to eDiscovery practice and procedures and utilizing document databases to conduct searches and code evidentiary material. You will be a part of a high-performing team completing assignments with established procedures that include:

  • Provide printing assistance including tabbing, numbering, labeling, assembling documents; filling out log sheets and reporting on task progress; and performing quality control on the work of peers in all of these areas.
  • Assist with case organization and maintenance including filing, retrieving, and copying case file materials; creating witness binders; preparing deposition and trial exhibits; entering data on-line to case files and other databases; proofreading, editing, correcting OCR'd text files.
  • Performs simple database searches.
  • Prepare documents for image scanning; performs other document collection related activities, including document screening, and labeling of files to be scanned.
  • Perform legal and administrative duties under the direction of Project Supervisor or Document Management Analyst.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • DOJ MBI must be obtainable.
  • Must be able to understand task, task objectives, and the context of the task in the litigation support effort as a whole.
  • Must have typing/keyboarding skills and good communication skills.
  • Ability to perform detailed work consistently, accurately, and under pressure extremely important.
  • Must be knowledgeable user of the Government's office and network environment, including but not limited to, word processing, database, spreadsheet, imaging, and telecommunications systems.
  • Must take the initiative to ask questions when necessary to complete task correctly (e.g. where instructions are not explicit or appear to be contrary to the task objective).
  • Must be able to read and follow instructions.
