Dishwasher/ Porter - New Brooklyn Restaurant & Members Club

HAPPIER is building a community for creators with the help of creators! We are looking for energetic, passionate, and professional Dishwashers/ Porters whose responsibilities include collecting used dishes, plates, and utensils, loading washing machines, and stacking washed items appropriately. Ultimately, you’ll help provide an unforgettable dining experience for our customers. With the opening of 154 Scott Members Club this Memorial Day, we are looking to grow our team!

Because we are a small team, we all wear many hats and are happy to roll up our sleeves and lend a hand whenever needed. Private events at 99 Scott & WSA Building, scheduled for this Spring, will allow the new team to become a cohesive unit and shape a clear vision and understanding of the Happier brand before the planned launch.

These are FT positions for the Members Club, and you must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations before meal prep begins
• Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses, and utensils, especially during peak hours
• Operate the dishwashers and monitor the temperature settings assuring that the wares are being cleaned
• Utilizes chemicals according to the Material Safety Data Sheets
• Keep all work surfaces, dish area, and floor clean and Sanitized
• Arrange and store all equipment and plate ware, glasses, silverware according to company guidelines
• Maintain a professional and polished appearance and demeanor at all times
• Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots, and delicate china)
• Disposes of all trash and Cardboard every shift
• Load and unload dishwashing machines
• Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
• Assist with receiving deliveries and storing product
• Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor
• Create HAPPIER experience for all guests, members, and coworkers
• Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues

Daily Requirements

• Punch in and out in full uniform for each shift
• Keep all trash containers clean and not overflowing
• Change the water in the machine according to guidelines
• Sweep and Mop all areas of the kitchen that need attending
• Thoroughly cleans and maintains the dish machine by following guidelines
• Sorts, washes and restocks all small wares and dining room supplies
• Restock and maintain adequate levels of chemical and cleaning supplies for each shift

Requirements

• Demonstrate a friendly, high-energy personality with a positive and team-oriented approach
• FULL AVAILABILITY- daytime hours, evening hours, and weekends
• Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the work area and property
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks as needed
• Attention to detail and sanitation rules
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, such as staying on your feet, climbing stairs, and carrying heavy objects
• A high school diploma is a plus
• Work experience as a Hospitality Dishwasher/ Porter or on Wait Staff
• Hands-on experience with industrial washing machines
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
• Time management skills
• Able to handle last-minute changes
