Parsons is seeking a Disease Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead our efforts in building and maintaining a strong network focused on public health analytics and modeling. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in infectious disease epidemiology, excellent communication skills, and experience working with diverse stakeholders in public health, academia, and the private sector. As an Infectious Disease SME and Network Lead, you will play a critical role in expanding awareness, training, and sharing of best practices related to outbreak analytics and modeling, ultimately contributing to improved public health outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Engage with the CDC and national organizations representing various public health groups to expand awareness, training, and sharing of best practices related to outbreak analytics and modeling.
- Provide expert guidance and knowledge on infectious disease epidemiology, outbreak investigations, and response efforts to inform decision-making and improve our organization's impact.
- Act as a primary point of contact for external stakeholders, representing our organization's interests and ensuring that our work aligns with the broader public health landscape.
- Lead the coordination and management of our network by convening regular and ad hoc meetings, supporting information exchange, and facilitating personnel collaborations among various public health organizations.
- Promote high-quality outbreak analytics and modeling through initiatives such as standards development, collaborative sharing of analytic tools and modeling resources, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Coordinate communication activities related to the work of all recipients, ensuring that key messages, updates, and achievements are effectively communicated to relevant stakeholders.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Demonstrated expertise in infectious disease epidemiology, including experience with outbreak investigations and response efforts.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in infectious disease research, analytics, and modeling, with a focus on emerging disease threats.
- Doctoral degree in public health, epidemiology, infectious diseases, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the public health landscape, including key organizations, stakeholders, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in coordinating communication activities, such as developing and implementing communication strategies, organizing meetings and events, and preparing reports and presentations.
- Knowledge of outbreak analytics and modeling, as well as familiarity with relevant tools, resources, and best practices.
