This role has a work from home option. Candidate must live in the Sutter footprint in Northern California and be available to come on site as needed for meetings, and any other work-related matter.Primarily focused on direct leadership on the development and implementation of a competitive and systematic labor relations system programs at Sutter Health. Directs and promotes a team approach in resolving Sutter Health and its affiliates' most critical labor challenges and operational objectives by identifying, designing, and creating strategic solutions. Provides regular consultative guidance to human resources (HR) leadership across assigned areas on how to efficiently embed best practices in bargaining objectives, employee engagement and effective labor relations strategies specific to the environment. Provides system support to the affiliates including education, training, communication plans and anticipated activities to foster effective positive and/or preventative labor relations.
Delivers both employee and labor expertise and thought leadership.
The ideal candidate for this role will have lead negotiator experience involving multiple union contracts. Strategic work with hospital executives would be a highly desired skillset. Leading a team of labor relations professionals, which would also involve teaching, training and strategizing would be highly desired experience as well.

EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.Bachelor's: Business Administration, Human Resources or related field or equivalent education/experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:12 years extensive experience leading complex labor negotiations.12 years demonstrated experience developing, implementing and administering human resources programs.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEBroad working knowledge of Labor Relations and Employment laws and processes and a contemporary human resources perspective of labor relations.Knowledge of employment and employee relations, regulations, law and processes.Must be able to represent labor relations in an influential and persuasive way in dealing with a broad range of labor relations and human resources issues.Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of all areas human resources, including compensation, benefits, recruitment, workforce planning, human resource information systems, and training & development.Knowledge of dispute resolutions and mediation techniques.Must have the skills to effectively lead change and transition.Collaboration skills to facilitate open sharing of information between various areas of functional expertise within the system and the affiliates.Demonstrated ability to effectively manage/recommend through functional (vs. line) leadership and personal influence to achieve a positive effect.Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are required to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships in an extremely fast paced and demanding work environment.Analytical and conceptual skills.Ability to develop creative solutions.Must have demonstrated organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and projects within given timelines.Must use systems thinking to recognize issues, synthesize, analyze, problem solve, evaluate, in decision-making and formulate breakthrough strategies and business plans for improvement and growth.
