About This Role


Reporting to the VP, Operations, this person will lead a team composed of Maesa managers as well as multiple 3PLs (domestic and international) and freight forwarders. This operations leader will engage in network design to optimize the 3PL network while also engaging in cost-efficiency exercises. The primary focus will be to ensure great consistent execution, delivering service metrics within budget.


We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable being hands-on and digging into the details while being able to step back and look at the big picture and opportunities for efficiencies. The right candidate possesses exceptional emotional intelligence, builds trust and relationships and feels home in a data-driven and results-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities


  • Directs the implementation and upgrading of systems. Mentors, develops, and evaluates the performance of direct staff.
  • Drives continuous improvement culture – responsible for executing a portfolio of distribution and transportation logistics improvement projects to optimize distribution network, maximizing service levels while lowering total delivery costs.
  • Partners with procurement management for vender management of inbound freight to ensure overall customer service levels are high and ensuring suppling of materials in a timely manner while minimizing total costs.
  • Strong communication skills, adept at presentations and getting buy-in from strategic stakeholders, both internal and external; in depth knowledge of key supply chain/logistics processes and current best practices; able to adapt and contend with ambiguity.
  • In collaboration with cross-functional partners, maintain a dynamic approach to risk assessment, mitigation and business continuity planning.
  • Oversees and directs work of transportation management team – managing private fleet, pool distributors, consolidation programs and carried relationships (FTL, LTL and express)
  • Ensures compliance with international use laws and regulations related to import/export activities.
  • Manages all 3PLs and TMS managed freight forwarders; ensure full line by line understanding of Monthly 3PL's cost to ensure charges are aligned to expectations and approved exceptions.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory integrity, process controls, procedures, and systems throughout the distribution network.
  • Provides the analytical tools necessary for decision making, which includes reporting metric trends to help drive the business.
  • Experience working in and managing ERP, TMS and WMS – knowledge of Epicor a plus.


Qualifications


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a team
  • Previous experience working within a Consumer Packaged Goods (preferably beauty) environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics management, inventory management or operations management
