Job Description

Job Summary: The Director of Technical Operations will be responsible for providing technical execution and leadership in the areas of engineering, capital project management, GMP manufacturing/utilities maintenance and facilities. This individual will serve as the leader and key point of contact in each of these functions, personally executing critical tasks, while developing organizational capability to deliver against future opportunities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support for equipment design and selection, ensuring that safety, quality, customer service and cost requirements are intentional considerations from project inception through day-to-day operations.
  • Identify / execute projects and initiatives to deliver desired business results and exceed Customer expectations. Provide coaching and support for engineers and maintenance team members to ensure work processes are followed, milestones are achieved.
  • Work effectively with a diverse “customer” group, (production, production planning, Quality, Purchasing, R&D, external Customers, etc.), to understand and meet/exceed their expectations, manage conflicting priorities, and achieve desired business results.
  • Develop and manage technical systems and work processes, including but not limited to: site master-planning, engineering standards, Cap-Ex budgeting and tracking, preventative maintenance, project management, safety management, etc. After defining the current best work processes, utilize business applications to manage complexity, provide exception management, and reporting on system health.
  • Implement technology solutions to support daily results improvement in safety, quality, cost and reliability. Drive systemic improvements to current systems to enable sustained performance in these areas.
