Position Title & Overview:


As a leader in Mediavine’s new Social Impact department the Director will spearhead the launch of our DEI Marketplace. Our mission to increase outreach to existing publishers and the broader community is driven by our goal to bridge the opportunity gap experienced by minority publishers in the industry. As part of our commitment to making the world more inclusive, we are seeking a dynamic professional to contribute to the development and execution of this program. You will work internally and externally to define, develop, and execute programs that drive awareness and maximize impact in this space.


In this role; innovation, collaboration and a healthy disruption of the status quo are all keys to success. Partnering with others, you will create space for discussion on matters that drive change; broker partnerships that surface tangible benefits and actively promote the inclusion, growth and value of this market. The ideal candidate is someone who can inspire and influence cross-functional teams and industry colleagues driven by the shared goal to make a positive impact.


Essential Responsibilities:


  • Contribute to the execution of Mediavine’s DEI storytelling and communications plan that captures and highlights the advancement of our DEI efforts.
  • Collaborate with marketing and business development on the positioning of our DEI industry focused point of view.
  • Partner closely with the marketing, legal, people operations and other functional teams as needed in support of initiatives and to help promote outcomes
  • Attend key industry events to promote our DEI efforts, participating in thought leadership activities, such as but not limited to panels, presentations, and PR opportunities.
  • Lead in the development of Mediavine’s DEI Marketplace and all associated initiatives, events and programs
  • Collaborate with key internal teams on relevant data and goal setting
  • Take a forward-thinking approach to DEI in the Ad Tech industry by staying informed on relevant industry changes and using a data driven approach to identify the best ways to achieve success
  • Design presentations, generate reports, and present on DE&I matters, discuss opportunities for improvement, and make recommendations.
  • Develop annual and long-term goals for the program
  • Travel up to 30%
  • Take a key market facing role as a thought leader in this space

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • Represent Mediavine as our industry thought leader on industry driven DEI initiatives to influence and create change. Strong project management skills with experience gaining consensus and driving deliverables with individuals inside the organization
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • 10+ years of experience in Operations, Media and Ad Tech
  • Experience planning industry events from conception to go live
  • Ability to sell ideas and present strategies at various levels
  • Proven industry contacts necessary to establish partnerships and drive industry initiatives.
  • Experience working with various teams to leverage expertise where it is available to get the job done
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Ability to work on multiple types of projects at any one time
  • Well established reputation and recognized expertise in Ad Tech
  • A high level of enthusiasm, creativity, self-motivation, resourcefulness, and effectiveness as a team player
  • Superior research and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills as well as creativity and resourcefulness
  • Experience in Program Management and/or Program Management Methodologies; success in crafting, planning, and leading programs full cycle
  • 5+ years experience in corporate responsibility, DEI preferred
