Job Description

:

The Position:

QRS is looking for a top-tier data and/or operations professional who can lead it’s systematic ESG operations. These operations are critical to Fidelity’s Systematic ESG offerings and are used in investment processes across Asset Management. The Director will be the primary interface between QRI investment professionals, investments services team and the QRI Technology group.

The Value You Deliver:

  • Be the subject matter expert for the systematic ESG research data and production processes including analytics calculation, model construction, factor definition and calculation
  • Be responsible for the production workflow of our systematic ESG processes ensuring the highest quality data outputs drive Fidelity’s Systematic ESG mutual funds, ETFs and SMAs
  • Lead the intake and implementation of daily processes, communication and escalation protocols and documentation for workflows.

The Skills You Bring:

  • Keen ability to understand the needs of our internal customers and proactively solve for those needs
  • Highly proactive and self-motivated with the ability to meet objectives under minimal direction providing oversight and mentorship to junior team members
  • Highly analytical with the ability to quickly comprehend large data sets, develop and implement the right quality controls for these datasets
  • High proficiency in SQL; Python is a plus

The Expertise You Have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and are confident working with both technical and investment teams
  • 5+ years of experience in a data and/or operational role.
  • Demonstrated ability as a top performer working in a data analysis role with great attention to detail
  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, finance or any quantitative discipline is helpful

The Team:

The role is part of the QRS team, which is an integral part of the Quantitative Research and Investing (QRI) division in Asset Management. The QRS team leads all aspects of production processes, data integrity and end-to-end support for portfolio management, risk models and quantitative research platforms. Working very closely with quantitative researchers and technology partners, QRS associates are responsible for the oversight, maintenance, quality assurance and operational support of production workflows to ensure timely and accurate data is available for direct use within the portfolio management process.
