Who are we looking for

We are looking for an experienced leader for our Product Creation & Merchandising Data Science team. This Director will lead a team of data scientists responsible for bringing art & science together to supercharge the most loved footwear & apparel brand in the world. This includes implementing data science solutions in new and creative ways to influence decision making throughout the product creation process (strategy, design, merchandising, etc). We are seeking a leader who can develop and manage a results-oriented roadmap, collaborate with partners, and mentor and guide their team to deliver innovative impact at the core of Nike’s business!

What will you work on
  • Lead all aspects of the development of the data science roadmap for Product Creation & Merchandising
  • Partner with data engineering, machine learning platform, and MLOps teams to deploy algorithms for use by business leaders at key moments in the product creation process
  • Collaborate with the broader data science community within Nike (Consumer & Commercial Data Science)
  • Partner with other data science & analytics teams to maximize the impact of the work and maintain highly aligned roadmaps
  • Hire, onboard, and lead a team dedicated data scientists
Who will you work with

You will report to the Sr Director of Product Creation & Merchandising Data Science. You will work directly with footwear and apparel leaders to deeply understand their space and identify opportunities to use data science to drive business results. You will partner closely with our Analytics teammates at Global and in our Geographies to co-create solutions with the business to address their most important priorities.

Product Creation & Merchandising Data Science is part of Nike’s Consumer Data Science team and Consumer Insights function. As a member of Nike’s data science community, you will be an active participate in our labs, conferences, study groups, and team activities.

What you bring

  • Experience communicating technical roadmaps to business leaders
  • Ability to innovate and push the boundaries of data science capabilities
  • Bachelors degree or higher or Combination of relevant education, experience and training.
  • Interest in deploying data science algorithms to serve internal business leaders
  • Experience developing strong cross-functional partnerships with engineering, product, & analytics teams
  • Experience hiring and mentoring outstanding data scientists
  • Proven knowledge in statistical and machine learning modeling
  • Remote Work Option – open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. These candidates will be required to relocate.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $147,500 to $321,000. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate’s location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
