Overview


We are looking for an experienced Technology Portfolio leader to provide strategic thought leadership, drive transformation, and work across technology and business domains to plan, lead, coordinate, and provide oversight over assigned portfolios, program management, and scrum master resources within the Athlete (customer) domain. Define and drive enterprise level Portfolio and Program Management (PPM) practices, standards, and ways of working. Drive and facilitates annual, quarterly and continuous planning processes. Supports strategic cross portfolio and domain planning, prioritization, budgeting, and goal setting across the technology organization. This position will partner with the Senior Director of Enterprise Portfolio & Program Management to lead our Athlete portfolio prioritization decisions, capacity planning and resource management, delivery and execution, and measurement.


Facilitates senior executive level portfolio planning, prioritization, and status update discussions in partnership with leaders of all levels from across technology and business teams. As such, the ideal candidate needs to have strong portfolio management experience, great executive presence, strong story telling abilities, and a deep understanding of how Athlete Technologies (i.e. Stores, eCommerce, Marketing, etc.) help unlock business capabilities.


Portfolio Planning and Transformation


  • Plans and drives activities that build the “culture” of the portfolio
  • Ensures alignment, and works on assigned initiatives, in conjunction with other leaders across Technology
  • Help establish and manage organization level roadmaps, initiatives, backlogs, budgets, communications, and change management as required
  • Ensures strategic alignment of portfolios within the Athlete domain to Technology and Enterprise level strategy and goals
  • Supports strategic planning activities within and across portfolios


Portfolio & Program Management


  • Manages portfolio level issues and risks across product teams, helping to remove barriers
  • Activates against defined standards for lean portfolio and program management processes, services, and deliverables while continually assessing, growing, and enhancing those capabilities within the portfolio
  • Uses insight, experience, and knowledge to drive the utilization of technology to support the enablement of portfolio, program management, and scrum processes and practices
  • Provides clear and concise communication on strategy, prioritization, tradeoff decisions, status updates, funding, resourcing needs, and risk mitigation recommendations
  • Leads the scoping, planning and execution of complex cross-functional programs that span across multiple technology teams
  • Work with appropriate stakeholders, including outside parties, to undertake analysis and define options and recommendations, to ultimately deliver value.
  • Contributes to the definition of portfolio estimation and capacity planning models
  • Drives alignment across the technology organization, and with key stakeholders, to enable delivery success
  • Manages vendor relationships, contracts, and deliverables as required
  • Facilitates Senior Executive level portfolio planning, prioritization, and status update discussions
  • Works with technology leadership and teams to define portfolio level metrics and measurement practices to achieve Technology organization as well as with Enterprise level goals.
  • Leads strategic portfolio planning, prioritization, budgeting, and goal setting within area of responsibility
  • Drives Portfolio level reporting practices and alignment between financial tracking and value delivery, working in partnership with Finance leadership
  • Defines and Maintains ongoing Governance (reporting, monitoring, escalation, controls)


Teammate Support & Development


  • Fosters collaboration with team members to drive consistency across technology teams, and finds opportunities to expose teammates to career interests
  • Guides team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks within and across technology teams
  • Sets clear performance standards and expectations for teammates
  • Provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching to the above roles, and serves as an escalation point to address critical actions or issues
  • Creates and fosters a positive culture where teammates are excited to work and grow professionally
  • Leads learning activities around discipline best practices (communities of practice)
  • Attracts, retains, and develops top talent to build a strong team of Program Managers, Scrum Masters, and Portfolio Managers
  • Conducts regular status meetings, quarterly check-ins, and annual performance reviews
  • Reviews teammate career development plans and conducts regular career development conversations


Qualifications


  • PMP certification (preferred, not required)
  • Proficient in project management execution in a modern software environment via multiple methodologies (Agile, XP, DevOps, Lean Product, etc.)
  • Experience managing alignment across projects or product teams in an enterprise environment
  • Experience and knowledge of organizational change management principles, methodologies, and tools
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
  • Experience managing strategic vendor relationships or acting as the primary point of contact for strategic partnerships
  • SAFE certification (preferred, not required)
  • 7-10 years of portfolio and/or program management Technology related work experience, with 2-3 years’ experience in a retail ; experience within an Agile and Lean Product model preferred.


Targeted Pay Range: $127,000 - $237,800. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all teammate pay regularly to ensure competitive and equitable pay.
