Purpose of the Position

The Director of Plastics Operations for Output Solutions manages the day-to-day Plastics (Credit Card) personalization business. The leader will serve as a key member of the Fiserv Output Solutions leadership team and work closely with Sales, Client Management, Service Management, and account management to ensure the end-to-end delivery of card materials on behalf of the client. The Director is responsible for the end-to-end processes, operations, and delivery of product from order to shipment.


General Description:

  • Routinely interact with Fiserv Sales and Customer Service teams to address client inquires and consult on new business opportunities.
  • Oversight of entire plant operations including production, warehouse, distribution, and maintenance in a 7 x 24 environment.
  • Direct responsibility for all production functions performed within the site which includes ensuring that delivery service levels and financial targets are achieved.
  • The site operates 7 X 24 X 365 as such the Site Leader must ensure that there is adequate and appropriate management oversite whenever operations are running.
  • Collaborate with supporting functions to reach a common goal. Examples of this include on-boarding new business, addressing client concerns, and installation of new technology
  • Considered the senior representative of Fiserv and is expected to maintain a professional demeanor and always perform in an ethical manner.
  • Continually look for efficiency improvement opportunities and work with appropriate supporting resources to drive productivity improvements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with supporting team members to achieve common objectives.
  • Assist with development of viable business cases to support capital expenditures.
  • Provide direction, leadership, mentoring and guidance to the plant operations individuals and leadership team.
  • Create and enhance metrics and tools to measure key performance indicators including productivity, quality, safety, scrap rates, labor efficiencies, machine down time, inventory levels, on-time delivery to ensure manufacturing and warehouse/distribution operations are running in an efficient manner.
  • Drive both short and long-range plans and objectives for improving operations, profitability, service, timeliness, quality, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with Company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, safety, and complete on-time delivery at the lowest possible cost.
  • Routinely interact with Senior management, Clients, Venders, and Suppliers.
  • Serve as an ambassador of Fiserv and promote our company, products, and services at every opportunity.
  • Identify potential improvements in service and transactional process flows and provide leadership in developing practices for maximum efficiencies and continuous improvements
  • Establish and execute strategic direction to achieve production and distribution management objectives, including labor efficiency, quality, compliance and optimal utilization of capital equipment, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy.
  • Provide active daily management of manufacturing operations including production, maintenance and warehouse logistics supporting manufacturing.
  • Meet delivery performance (quality, timelines, and privacy) targets.
  • Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.

  • Annual operating budget - $46M
  • Site head count – 550 FTE’s (450 production)
  • Annual Volume – 100M pieces
  • Facility - 150K Sq. Ft.


The Candidate

Experience and Professional Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles and experience applying these processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred.
  • General understanding of warehousing, materials management, and logistics.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, HIPPA, High-Trust standards.
  • 5+ years management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have well developed communication skills and can effectively communicate (written and speaking).
  • Experience with business case development.
  • Working knowledge of financial statements and the principals of accounting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in industrial engineering, operations management, business management,
  • Financial budgeting experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
