We are currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Director of Equipment, Olympic Sports. The Director of Equipment, Olympic Sports will manage the needs of various Olympic sports. The position will also oversee staff, as well as department shipping, receiving and delivering of packages. This position will report to the Assistant Athletics Director, Equipment Services. This position is based on the Stanford main campus.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Keeping and maintaining accurate inventories, overseeing and managing the department shipping and receiving area
  • Working closely with all sports coaches (with the exception of football) on ordering, inventory and laundry/practice/game schedules
  • Ordering other equipment and accessories for assigned sports along with tracking and receipt of orders
  • Acting as supervisor when Assistant Athletics Director, Equipment Services is absent
  • Ordering with our main apparel vendor, Nike and utilizing their Gameday ordering system
  • Working closely with assigned coaches, advising them with respect to purchase, issue, and return of all athletic equipment
  • Overseeing and managing the laundry area and service for various Olympic sports
  • Overseeing and managing the letter awards process as it relates to the equipment area
  • Overseeing the implementation of department inventory control system
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Working with the accounting office to make sure budgets are followed and all procurement procedures are correctly followed
  • Overseeing the storage area for various Olympic sports and organize shelfing. Keeping room neat and organized and up to all OSHA / Fire Marshall codes

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Bachelors’ degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Ability to work flexible and irregular hours and travel, including weekends and holidays
  • Valid Non-commercial Driver's License, or ability to obtain by start date
  • Ability to keep detailed records
  • Ability to perform in a professional manner in a high pressure environment
  • Knowledge of athletic equipment and its’ proper use
  • Experience with laundry services for athletic teams
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible
  • Basic computer experience
  • Supervisory capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

In addition, our preferred qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of University branding, logos, and trademark regulations, as well as, conference and NCAA rules as they pertain to recruiting, equipment and uniform logo requirement
  • Athletic Equipment Manager Certifications
  • Experience with ACS (or competitor) inventory control system
  • At least three years of experience working in an FBS, FCS, or professional team equipment room
  • Experience with Nike (or other brand) ordering system

The expected pay range for this position is $64,480 - $85,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
