Director of Supply Chain

ServiceMaster is looking for a Director, Supply Chain to be a vital business partner with functional leaders and Brand Presidents, leading change to the entire end-to-end supply chain process. This person will be responsible for partnering with third-party Supply Chain provider in designing and implementing company-wide Procurement, Planning and Logistics strategies to support our Franchise networks. This includes the following: company-wide procurement strategies including strategic sourcing, category management, contract management, supplier relationship management; company-wide planning strategies including strategic planning, customer pull-based planning, implementation of strategic tools and working with Service Master Brands’ (SMB) Franchise network on Supply Chain related initiatives.


What you will do:

  • Lead inventory strategy to optimize for demand planning, supply planning, planning execution, as well as order management, order fulfillment, and inventory management.
  • Manage & drive improvements to the end to end (E2E) supply chain flow with data-driven decisions, leading to improved forecast accuracy, service levels and working capital with SMB’s third-party Supply Chain provider.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to forecast demand, set production schedules, and manage inventory levels accordingly.
  • Adapt as needed to quickly and effectively integrate acquisitions to ensure service levels and deliver desired economies and savings.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts and agreements with suppliers, optimizing terms and conditions to achieve cost savings and mitigate risks.
  • Utilize data analytics and forecasting tools to improve accuracy and responsiveness in demand planning.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and order fulfillment.
  • Implement strategies to minimize excess and obsolete inventory and drive inventory turnover.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in root cause analysis and problem-solving to address supply chain issues and improve performance.
  • Evaluate and select third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and negotiate contracts to maximize service levels and cost savings.
  • Lead the development and implementation of effective inventory management strategies, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet customer demand while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain, including disruptions, capacity constraints, and geopolitical factors.
  • Determine and differentiate Franchisees needs from its supply chain regarding competitive advantage, market positioning, cycle time, capital required for inventory and other applications, service, revenue, profitability, and growth.
  • Define information technology systems requirements and manage projects to support process improvements.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to establish supply chain performance metrics and targets.
  • Oversee the selection, evaluation, and management of suppliers, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop strong relationships with key suppliers to promote collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes affecting supply chain management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the supply chain, implementing best practices and lean methodologies.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop supply team on a fast pace / growth environment.


What you will bring:

  • Demonstrate strong people, problem solving, communication, organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven track record orchestrating and driving sustained strategic Supply Chain initiatives or programs.
  • Experience negotiating and seeking compromise collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills through determination of root causes and development of corrective action plans.
  • Proven experience with a leading a Supply Chain transformation initiative and working with third-party Supply Chain providers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in which requirements & priorities continuously change.
  • Proven success linking Supply Chain strategies to a multi-channel business model with a proven ability taking calculated risk in transformational environments.
  • Proven experience working cross functionally at the senior executive level.
  • Persevere in overcoming obstacles and setbacks by taking swift and efficient action and sharing best practices.
  • Strong leadership skills, including leading projects across departments.
  • A self-starter with an ability to complete tasks both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen; demonstrated by the ability to analyze situations and make recommendations that are consist with the company goals.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, and related reporting tools.

Education and Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • 10+ years of Supply Chain, Transportation, or Inventory Management experience at the management level.
  • Bachelor's Degree in supply chain management, transportation, business administration, operations management, engineering, or finance;
