OVERVIEW:

The Director of Store Communications oversees all aspects of the communication strategy for store teammates, distribution center teammates and field management communications.

The Director will consult with senior leadership on the development of these strategies, the messaging and the best communication vehicle(s) to disseminate the information. The Director also will direct the continual improvement and modernization of the store and distribution center communications functions, ensuring that store and field teammates have best in class communications, delivered in the way that makes the information easy to understand, find and prioritize.

Oversees communications function for stores and distribution centers providing strategic advice to company leaders regarding content, timing, and best channels for communications to the stores.

  • Works with team to develop smart, clear communications and execute delivery to stores and DCs; coordinates with other internal comms teams to ensure consistent messaging across the organization.
  • Provides strategic counsel on the best ways and times to communicate and develops communications plans accordingly.
  • Meets regularly with leaders in store operations, strategy, HR and other departments to understand their communications priorities.

Works in partnership with HR and Stores COS to help EVP of Stores to create, evolve and manage programs for store teams, including SMLC, recognition, learning and development opportunities.

Special project support as requested by the EVP of Stores, including communications rhythms, recognition programs, learnings programs, etc.

Responsible for content and engagement strategies for internal channels, including teammate app DSG Connect and TV network DSGTv.

  • Responsible for continuing to grow audience base among teammates, including by developing exclusive content and other creative ideas.
  • Oversees content development including storytelling, company news and new features.

Directs a team who are responsible for their own areas of store operations and DC communications. Develops team members through structured development plans, coaching and training.

Establishes and continually evaluates the governance for our communications channels and refines content for each to ensure that we are delivering best in class communications to our largest employee population.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 15+ years experience in Retail or Corporate Communications
