Job Description

In this role you’ll play a key role in shaping and implementing the core portfolio global marketing strategy for genomic and multi-omic amplification chemistries used in single cell analysis to drive the understanding and mechanisms of complex disease. You’ll be leading key initiatives with impact across applications (oncology, neurology, etc.) in close partnership with Marketing, Commercial Strategy and Operations, Global Sales and Customer Success, R&D, Bioinformatics, Product Development, Operations and other functions across the organisation.


Responsibilities


  • Execute and support development of the strategic vision across multiple applications for single cell analysis, balancing near-term and long-term priorities.
  • Work closely with product stakeholders to define product features and performance metrics to ensure products meet customer expectations
  • Create strong and close working relationships with global partners on product teams
  • Maintain market surveillance for new product opportunities
  • Maintain a constant review process to evaluate opportunities for product enhancements and cost reduction strategies
  • Identify actionable insights based on market research and ensure that the product addresses unmet need areas
  • Define, benchmark and assess product performance
  • Support the development and implementation of the strategy to integrate market and customer segments into one cohesive plan
  • Your ultimate benchmark will be the successful execution of a global commercial strategy that maximizes the overall value of the assets across the product lifecycle
  • Lead and participate in key cross-functional global workstreams to deliver integrated solutions that bring value to our customers
  • Develop and drive execution of strategic marketing activities such as differentiation strategies, competitive positioning, campaigns, messaging and forecast guidance
  • Utilize competitive analysis and market intelligence to drive product strategy
  • Support the development and implementation of a global and regional market plan of action
  • Develop product roadmaps with milestones and deliverables



Qualifications


  • Highly resourceful and strategic thinker with strong emotional intelligence, strategic and operational rigor and financial aptitude capabilities
  • Relevant commercial experience in the genomics industry required
  • Strong preference for local candidates (Durham, NC).
  • Strong analytical skills, demonstrated by the ability to identify and interpret complex issues and provide appropriate recommendations to senior management and across functional areas
  • Must be able to travel up to 20%.
  • MBA and/or advanced degree in life sciences or doctoral degree preferred
  • Oncology experience and market knowledge strongly preferred
  • Exceptional communication, leadership without authority and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and implement multi-dimensional marketing and business plans, including product development, product strategy, campaign development, tactical planning and budgeting
  • Must thrive in a dynamic role and be very self-motivated and independent.
  • Experience in local or regional product strategy and annual plan implementation; experience in product marketing required
  • The ability to influence and work successfully with varied audiences
  • A bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of 12 years’ experience, or a minimum of 10 years with a master’s (8 years with a doctoral degree)
