Growing company is looking to hire a Director of Procurement Leader for the U.S. We are looking for strong candidates who come from a discrete manufacturing background preferably within the industrial machinery industry that have experience setting the strategic direction as it relates to procurement for an organization. While local is preferred, relocation and a hybrid work schedule are both options.

Responsibilities


  • Leading the procurement department consisting of strategic and operational buyers,
  • Develops and coordinates new policies and procedures regarding Procurement processes.
  • Closely cooperating with local departments such as; engineering, quality, production and finance as well as with regional and global operating procurement departments
  • Conducts analysis of Procurement policies and procedures, develops plans, formulates guidelines, and implements new developments and procedures.
  • Implementing and maintaining regional and global procurement policies
  • Manages inventory levels of purchased and make-to-stock material. Conduct make vs.buy analysis on as needed basis.
  • Conducting spend analyses and executing cost savings programs for key commodities and suppliers.
  • Worldwide vendor rating, selection, contracting, implementation and auditing - securing in time and with a high quality delivery of goods and services
  • Implement and drive value analysis / value engineering initiatives to achieve annual savings targets.


Qualifications


Minimum Education: B .S. degree in related field plus APICS certification or equivalent experience. MBA degree is a plus.


Minimum Experience: Eight years' experience in Procurement with a history of increasing responsibility, preferably with industrial machinery manufacturing background.


Preferred Experience: Previous management experience in Procurement


Minimum Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well-developed problem solving, decision making and negotiation skills, assertive self-starter, ability to function in a multi-disciplined team environment, detail oriented and strong organization skills
