Job Description

Director of Performing Arts

We are looking for a highly motivated Director of Performing Arts for August 2023. To lead and teach within this whole school department.

British International School of Washington

At BISW, an IB World School, we offer a challenging curriculum for 570 students from pre-nursery to pre-university, culminating in the prestigious IB Diploma. We embrace a growth mindset, the diversity of our community, and strive to challenge our students.

We are housed in a spacious, modern, and self-contained Georgetown brick building. We are close to central Washington and next to Dumbarton Oaks Park, the Naval Observatory, and the National Cathedral. This enables our children to experience high quality learning in and out of the classroom. We have a highly qualified and experienced British-trained faculty, and overall a staff that represents a variety of cultures and nationalities.

At BISW we have an aspirational culture that encourages students to realise their own gifts and talents whilst developing them to be independent learners and leaders in the global community. It is our responsibility to nurture and guide each one. The school's welcoming, family atmosphere is grounded in respect, trust, compassion, and the ideal of community service.

We also provide a wide range of activities and experiences, not only preparing them for the future but also make their school and personal life more enjoyable and rewarding.
