Director of Plant Operations – Manufacturing

We are looking for a Director of Plant Operations based in Grand Rapids, MI. As a key member of our Operations team, you will lead all plant operations which includes 3 plants in West Michigan and 1 plant in Huntsville, Alabama. The Director of Plant Operations will set day-to-day direction, establish best practices as needed, build and drive corporate culture, and set the standard for operational excellence. The successful candidate will also have the desire, capability and experience to advance to the leadership role of Vice President of Operations within 1 year, which oversees all plant operations, quality and production planning.
Ridgeview Industries is a leading West Michigan based supplier of metal stampings, weldments and assemblies primarily serving the automotive market. Our privately held company, founded upon Christian principles, currently employs approximately 600 team members across our 4 plant locations.
Qualified candidates will have proven and demonstrated success and possess the following skills and qualifications:
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identify, propose and oversee activities to drive intentional, incremental and sustainable improvements in employee safety and well-being, corporate quality, process accountability, and production efficiency.
  • Ensure a safe, high quality, productive work environment that is accountable to established processes and driven to continually improve.
  • Build, mentor, and motivate a strong operational team, and empower them with the leadership and resources they need to successfully complete Operations initiatives.
  • Develop and propose operational and performance goals which are proactive, measurable and realistic, that are tied to long-term goals and support corporate direction.
  • Ensure effective collaboration within and across departments to achieve optimum performance and alignment with our corporate vision.
  • Work closely with the executive leadership team to communicate corporate vision and strategy as well as propose strategy and initiatives within Operations.
  • Passionately champion a culture of operational excellence and teamwork in service to our stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • A servant leadership style that aligns with our Mission Statement and Guiding Principles.
  • Thorough knowledge of automotive quality systems, requirements and “best-in-class” practices.
  • Proven ability to influence and facilitate teams, communicate vision and inspire employees to exceed their potential.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills, extreme attention to detail, with strong operations acumen and experience.
  • Thorough understanding of plant operational metrics and demonstrated history of meeting and/or exceeding established operational goals.
  • 10-15 years of experience in advancing leadership positions within operations in the automotive industry.
  • Exhibits a professional presence with excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
