Summary:
As a Pack Director, you will lead the department to successfully and safely meet the needs of customers, both internal and external. You will provide strategic direction to your teams by planning and executing clear goals, priorities and metrics. You will create a positive and highly effective working environment based on mutual respect and a shared goal of being the number one supplier to our customers. You will be accountable for the day-to-day operations on the plant floor while increasing production and revenue.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure goals are achieved through teamwork and clear communication
• Train and develop future leaders and team members for success in the team’s goals and for future opportunities
• Provide timely feedback on performance and maintain an environment that encourages initiative, creative thinking, and self-motivation
• Develop plans to attain yield and productivity goals
• Responsible for overall production results
• Maximize the production process to lower costs
• Work with the accounting team to create a budget and spending plan
• Approve expenditures for supplies, materials and vendor services
• Respond to customer requests and issues
• Budgeting, planning and utilizing needed human and material resources
• Manage consistent reporting and communication with President and Corporate Headquarters in South Korea
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety programs and timely distribution of safety alerts and incident reports
• Implement and oversee quality control programs and monitor the requirements and results for the monthly quality review meetings
• Develop plans to optimize the production conditions and utility usage rates
• Reduce waste through continuous improvement activities
• Practice conflict resolution among teams and employees
Qualifications:
• B.S. required in Operations, Management, Engineering or related field required, MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience
Experience:
• 7 to 10+ years of experience as a plant manager or production manager in complex mechanical assembly, tooling, and manufacturing in a highly automated and/or automotive engineering environment
• Automotive Tier 1 experience required, ideally with a global organization
Skills:
• Strategic agility and ability to make complex decisions
• Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and ability to communicate clearly at all levels
• Ability to lead and manage innovation
• Self-motivated and mission-oriented to achieve target goals
• Understanding of battery manufacturing processes
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support entire production team
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support and work with HQ and global sites
